Lisa Newman, LSW, IL-PEL

Lisa is a Licensed Social Worker with a BSW from the University of Wisconsin Madison and a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has over 20 years of experience working in the public -school system and in private settings with grades ranging from K-12. Lisa works with children, adolescents, and adults specializing in the treatment of oppositional defiant disorder, ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders and family conflict. She also works with clients on issues related to self-esteem, bullying, anger management, executive functioning/organizational skills, school and academic management and more. With extensive experience in the school system, Lisa is able to act as an education advocate for her clients in addition to therapeutic services. Offering an empathetic, goal oriented, and collaborative approach, she utilizes a person-centered approach with clients drawing from modalities including, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Exposure Therapy, Play/Art therapy, and mindfulness. Lisa aims to help those heal from their past, embrace their present, and feel optimistic about their future.
